Thank You: Statement from Christian Amato

As I reflect on the past seven months of our campaign for New York State Senate, I am filled with an immense sense of pride, gratitude, and humility for all that we fulfilled together.

I have called and offered my congratulations to Assembly Member Nathalia Fernandez on her victory and wish her well as she continues to campaign through the general election.

Though the results were not what we had hoped for, we ran a strong campaign, rooted in the values of integrity, honesty, and accessibility — and we should be proud of what we have accomplished. We knew we would be outspent, but we never were out-hustled!

I am grateful for the support of each person who believed in our campaign, every constituent who cast their vote in support of me, every volunteer who believed in our movement, the unions, organizations, and local elected officials who endorsed me, every person who donated, and all of my family and friends who helped our campaign.

I remain committed to our belief in community-centered leadership that puts hard-working people first over the special interests of the establishment and wealthy corporations.

I am committed to continuing our fight for environmental justice, climate-resilient infrastructure, affordable housing and healthcare, and investments in our arts and culture — and I hope you will continue to stay by my side.

As always, my friends, we rise together! #WeRiseTogether

Onward,

Christian Amato
